My Review of 'Tweet Cute' by Emma Lord | Whimsical Soul
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
“It's weird, how you have no idea how far you've come until suddenly you can't find the way back.”
Oh em geee!! This book was simply adorable and absolutely delishhh!!
I went into this book expecting it to be corny and cheesy (no pun intended), but it turned out to be the opposite of it. It was soo cute, and I don't think I've ever read characters that were so mature in a YA novel.
It had all my favorite ingredients in it, high school, swimming, dessert *sighs wistfully* and a cute dorky romance, and the result was so sumptuous I don't know if I'm getting over it anytime soon.
But some things didn't sit right with me, the whole my-mom-made-me-do-it war on Twitter, like, for example. I don't understand why Pepper couldn't just straight up tell her Mom she wasn't up for it. Oh wait, she did. But she just kept pushing her and Pepper just kept caving under pressure.
And what was up with Ethan posting that picture? That was such a d*ck move. I admit it was not nice of her Mom to try to reignite the war either, but that was way too much dragging an innocent girl like that.
And I thought Jack coming clean about making the Weazel app would lead to a lot of fanfare and people coming up to him to thank him for making their four years of high school a little tolerable with his magic app. But all it ended up doing was get him suspended.
But I guess all's well that ends well.
This book was excellent, and I would recommend it to everyone who bothered to read this review.
